Dear Colleagues, The X Panamerican Congress of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, traditional milestone in the South American Scientifc Calendar will provide us great moments of joy and happiness during its organization. Share with them your experiences, exchange knowledge and have five days of pleasant interaction in the stunning scenery of Marvelous City, is always a chance to rejuvenate for the most experienced and a unique opportunity for the young. During this period, many stories took place, most of them left gentle memory marks on our minds, how much gratitude devoted to the pioneers of this idea and how, in reciprocity, we received! The dream came true in 1990. Dream completely elaborated in Enrico Ascher´s gifted mind, a man of multiple nationalities, Egyptian, Brazilian and American. Winner in foreign lands, never forgotten its origins, its ties with Brazil and with his beloved city of Rio de Janeiro. In the beginning, he had the immediate support and enthusiasm of Reinaldo José Gallo, with whom shared and lived years of training, the Hospital de Ipanema. Many others left the ship and Enrico, owner of innate talent of the great masters, played steady today that its ship approaches the safe harbor of twenty years. To celebrate its almost majority, a big party on October 28TH, at the Hard Rock Cafe, inspired by the theme of our lives, the vascular surgery. We thank the presence of all the invited and atendees to celebrate the past and welcome the next years. This year, our Honorary Chairman is Gregorio Sicard, probably the most skilled in the conventional approach of toracoabdominals aneurysms and aortic dissections in the world today. The Brazilian is honored Marcio Leal de Meirelles, former President of SBACV, man of unparalleled scientific and moral stature. This year, the event will honor Marcio Leal de Meirelles, brazilian former President of SBACV, man of unparalleled scientific and moral stature. Major societies brought their support to X Panamerican Congress. Arno does not need presentations and, in actuality, one of the most representative figures in the Brazilian vascular scenario, national and internationally. His acceptance to coordinate this very significant event honour and adds an unquestionable value to the Congress. In the same subjects, we sequence a tradition of Congress, with the ultrasound therapeutic aspects as the VII Symposium on Echo-color Doppler, coordinated by Natalie Marks. In the second (October 29th), fourth (31st October) and fifth (November 1st) days, follow the traditional medical roundtables, always focusing the debate and the participation of the audience. The more arterial controversial issues will be addressed by Brazilian and international expertises, the closing will be, again, marked by the Vascular Challenge Session, a real hit, launched two congresses.
