Giorgio M. Biasi
Dr. Giorgio M. Biasi received his medical degree from the University of Milano School of Medicine, Milano, Italy. Completed his general surgery and vascular surgery residencies at the University of Milano.
He became Associate Professor and subsequently Full Professor of Vascular Surgery and Chief of the Dept. of Vascular Surgery, University of Milano, Bassini University Hospital. He also became Director of the Training Programmes for the residency in Vascular Surgery at the University of Milano and subsequently at the University of Milano Bicocca when he moved to the San Gerardo Hospital in Monza.
He is presently Full Professor and Chief of the Vascular Surgery Unit, University of Milano Bicocca, San Gerardo University Hospital. He is also the Director of the Training Programme for the specialization in Vascular Surgery, Chairman of the Executive Council of the University Master in Endovascular Techniques (MET) of the duration of 1 year, Chief of the CAVEAT training programme at the University of Milano Bicocca of the duration of 3 months. Chairman of the EScVES (European School of Vascular and Endovascular Specialists).
He is member and coordinator of 4 international and National research programmes.
Giorgio Biasi is Officer in 11 Medical Societies and Member of 4 Italian and Member and Honorary Member of 13 International Societies.
GMB is member of the Editorial Board of 8 Medical Journals and Reviewer 4 prestigious journals.
GMB has been performing personally an average of 200 major vascular and endovascular procedures/year in the last 40 years and as Chief and Responsible of the Vascular Surgery Unit an average of over 1.000 procedures per year for a total of 30.000 procedures.
GMB has been Invited Guest Speaker in Hospitals and Medical Centres in 20 Countries participating in over 400 Congresses on Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, Interventional cardiology and Radiology in five Continents.
GMB is Author of about 260 scientific papers in national and international journals and of chapter in over 40 books.
He has been Visiting Professor in 9 prestigious Universities in Europe, America, Asia and Africa.
Since the year 2000, Chairman of the Organising Committee of the IVEC:International Vascular & Endovascular Courses, Emerging Technologies, New Achievements and Future Perspectives in Endovascular Interventions. The Courses are organised on a yearly basis and are credited and certified by the Italian and European CME programmes.
